Most adults of today probably grew up on sickeningly sweet premixed ice tea. All you needed to do was add water. It only vaguely tasted like tea, but none the less, we loved it. Now that we have grown up and developed refined tastes, hopefully, we have realized that was not real tea, yet another secret plot of manufacturing companies and our local dentists to make money.
Making infused tea doesn’t need to be a big production because, in reality, it’s pretty easy. Simply adding herbs into your french press, letting it brew and then drinking the next day can give you a mega boost of health benefits.
The first thing you need to do is pick your poison; specifically which herbs you want to use. This basic recipe calls for dried nettle leaf and oat straw. Combine approximately a half a cup of each into a French press with a capacity of three to six cups. If you don’t have a French press, you can also use a mason jar. Pour between three and four cups of boiling water over the herbs and let steep for no less than eight hours. You can let it steep overnight as well. To get the maximum benefit, drink the next day or within 24 hours. It’s like drinking liquefied multivitamins!
