Many people raise an eyebrow when they consider how they could possibly learn anything from Amish people.
One cannot imagine that there is anything to learn from a culture that excludes itself from the advancement of the rest of the world, just because the Amish have a tendency to stray from mainstream society and a variety of other futuristic ideals.
But it's evident that Amish people lead healthy lifestyles, hardly ever get sick, and even appear to have a low to nonexistent rate of autism, cancer, and other serious illnesses.
So, what can we possibly learn from the Amish that is seeming more and more as if they have it all figured out? Well, it’s pretty simple and easy to learn five of their lessons on how to keep yourself from ever getting sick.
1. Stress Free Lifestyle
The Amish have provided a system of egalitarianism that allows them to function as an equal, peaceful, and cooperative community.
This allows them to stray away from drama, toxic relationships, and like to stay in perfect harmony with day to day life.
They do not strain themselves to create critical or dire situations among themselves.
2.Physically Active At All Times
“The Amish were able to show us just how far we’ve fallen in the last 150 years or so in terms of the amount of physical activity we typically perform. Their lifestyle indicates that physical activity played a critical role in keeping our ancestors fit and healthy.”
States David R. Basset, professor at University of Tennessee in concerns of the obesity in America compared to the Amish.
To give you an idea as to how physically active everyone is, Amish men take roughly an average of 18,000 steps per day while Amish women take 14,000 steps per day. Since they do not own cars or any of the technology in today’s society, they are very much involved with physical labor.
3. Eating Healthy
The Amish tend to grow their own organic foods as well as raising their own happy animals and are completely GMO free.
They eat everything that is their seasonal harvest then can and reserve the rest of their food through fermentation. Their eggs, butter, meat, and other raw products contain a variety of vitamins and antioxidants that we crave daily.
4. Refuse To Be Vaccinated
The Amish have managed to live a vaccine free life and as a result have some of the fewest incidents of any mental illnesses in relation to autism. There have only been 3 reports of autism and all of which can be traced back to the children being vaccinated before hand. Regardless of pressure from the government to do so, the Amish still refuse to vaccinate anyone in their community.
