Stop Eating These 8 Cancer-Causing Foods

The cancer epidemic has exploded in the last century and more and more, doctors and researchers are pointing to environmental factors. One of those factors is the food we eat. These are foods experts recommend we shy away from.

1. Microwavable popcorn.

This seems like an unlikely cause of cancer, but the bags are often chemical-lined with a carcinogen that causes lung cancer, and fumes released from artificial butter cooked in the microwave contains diacetyl, which is a known carcinogen.

2. Grilled meat.

Grilling produces yummy food, but scientists have found that preparing meat over a grill, especially processed red meats like hot dogs and hamburgers, release a carcinogen called heterocyclic aromatic amines.

3. Canned foods.

Most cans used to can food items is lined with bisphenol-A, or BPA, which genetically alters brain cells (demonstrated in rats) and can wreak havoc on the body’s endocrine system.

4. Soda.

Sodas have been at the center of the health debate for decades. They often have high-fructose corn syrup, dyes, and numerous other chemicals. They offer no nutritional value and actually cause you to become nutrient deficient. Diet sodas are especially bad.

5. Refined sugar.

Aside from HFCF, refined white sugar is a source of major insulin spikes that feed cancer cell growth. Most sugar in the U.S. is made with GMO sugar beets too.

6. Farmed fish.

This is a big one. Commercially farming fish involves raising a ton of fish, like salmon, in a crowded environment, that are treated with pesticides, antibiotics, and God knows how many other chemicals. They contain practically none of the super beneficial nutrients that wild salmon does.

7. Hydrogenated oil.

Vegetable oils are chemically extracted from their source vegetables and often, more chemicals are added for aroma and taste. They are packed with unhealthy omega-6 fats and have been shown to alter the structure of our cell membranes.

8. Anything “diet,” “light,” or “fat-free.”

Stay away from these labels. They’d might as well read “chemical shit-storm.”
