Stop Pain, Bleeding, Itching, Swelling and Get Rid of Hemorrhoids Naturally at Home

There are a few at-home remedies that can help stop the bleeding and pain associated with hemorrhoids. Your life may change dramatically as a result of these treatments.

Does it feel like you're passing glass when you defecate? Are you bleeding heavily? Do you feel like you're draining a lot and the glass is passing during those defecations? During defecation, some patients report feeling as though they are urinating blood. You may become ill at the mere thought of it.

These home cures helps with alleviating this condition:

Garlic Cloves

Grind some garlic cloves and blend with coconut or olive oil and make small suppositories. These can be frozen before use.

Whenever needed, insert one suppository in the rectum.  Remember that it stings and you may even cry. This remedy makes the area numb but does not burn.

Always Wear Clean Underwear

Underwear should be clean and changed often. You should always carry an extra pair especially if you suffer from bleeding, leakages and small accidents.  Underwear should be loose cotton as they prevent sweating that can cause itching.

Warm Sitz Bath

You can take this 15-20 minute shower every day at least thrice a week.  It will stop the tingling, purify the butt-centric crevices and hemorrhoids, and lessen swelling. It is an effective transitory treatment for outer hemorrhoids.

It is prescribed to perform this treatment after your solid discharge.  Sit in a big bowl/shower with warm water and salt. Ocean salt, Epsom salt or cooking salt can be used.  A sitz shower can be purchased from a drug specialist.  This lets you have the shower while on the toilet seat.

Stool Softeners

Softeners like ‘Colace’ assist with defecation. It makes it more comfortable to pass stools as it gets rid of  straining. If the hemorrhoids are bleeding and swollen, your stool should be too smooth. If not, it can cause swelling and uneasiness.

Frequent Clothing Changes

Do not wear the same clothes for long periods especially if you like wearing pants. Remember that  feces, blood or mucus leakages could pass through your undergarments and soil your clothes.   This can dry and you may not see it but germs will be left where you sit.  These germs could be transferred by whoever touches where you sat.

Ice Cubes

Ice cubes can be used as follows:

  • Insert small and smooth ice cubes into the anus to cool and reduce swelling.
  • Press them on external haemorrhoids to soothe them.

Aloe Vera

With cotton wool, soft tissue or your fingers, massage aloe vera on the region. Start with 3 applications daily and when it gets better, do it once.  Aloe Vera heals and leaves a soothing feeling.

Witch Hazel

Witch hazel can be applied using cotton wool, soft tissue or witch hazel swab 3-times a day and then reduce to once. Most people have resorted to this remedy.

Foods Rich in Fibers

Raw and fresh fruits, veggies and whole grains are rich in fibers and should be included in your diet. The fibers soften your stool and reduce strain. This is one of the oldest methods for hemorrhoids prevention.  Fiber intake should be increased progressively to prevent  diarrhea and IBS.

Drink Water

Water keeps you hydrated and prevents stool from becoming hard.   Colas and sodas should be avoided because they contain caffeine that causes dehydration.  You can make flavored water by adding fruits like lemons or oranges.

Nutmeg

A 1/2 tsp. of nutmeg when you wake up and before going to bed has proved effective in patients with hemorrhoids.

Regular Exercise

Physical activity improves digestion and enhances a slow bowel movement. It doesn’t have to be vigorous, walking can also help.
