What Stool Color Can Tell About Your Health

OK, LET'S TALK LIKE A NORMAL HUMAN BEING FOR A MINUTE ABOUT DOUBTS RELATING TO OUR NATURAL NEEDS. You would have probably noticed that the color of the stool could vary from the color of "regular" feces. But now and then, do they come in a different color? If the color is black or otherwise green, red, or yellow, what does it mean?

 

A varied diet is the cause of the minor variations in the color of your feces. We don't eat the same thing at every meal of the day. Color diversity is frequently a sign of a minor health issue. It may indicate a more serious issue with your metabolism in some circumstances.

 

WHAT THE COLOR OF THE STOOL CAN SIGNALIZE

Before you read this, be aware you should consult your specialist if you’re concerned about your stool color. Especially if the color does not change for a few days or if your stool is bright black or red— this can indicate the presence of blood —check with the specialist immediately.

Green Color — means that the food may be moving through the large bowels too quickly, happens due to diarrhea. As a consequence, bile doesn’t have time to tear down completely. Cause: Green leafy vegetables, green food coloring, such as in flavored drink juices or ice pops, iron supplements

Light-colored, white or clay-colored — indicates the lack of bile in poop. This may symbolize a bile duct blocking. Cause: certain medications, like big doses of bismuth subsalicylate or anti-diarrheal medications.

Yellow, greasy, foul-smelling — means that excess fat in the stool, such as due to an absorption disorder, for example, celiac disease. Cause:

Sometimes the protein gluten, such as in bread and cereals. See a doctor for evaluation.

Black — means that bleeding in the upper gastrointestinal tract, such as the stomach. Cause: Iron supplements, bismuth, black licorice.

Bright Red — means bleeding in the lower intestinal tract, such as the large intestine or rectum, often from hemorrhoids. Cause:
