3 Tips To Prevent Hair Loss

Hair loss after bathing, especially when shampooing, is something that many of us feel. You don't need to be afraid because your hair needs to fall out every day.

Quoted from Healthline, a 2018 research review showed that the average person sheds about 100 hairs every day. If you feel uncomfortable with this loss, there are a number of things you can do to reduce it:

1. Deal with stress

Stress is a common reason hair falls out more. According to a 2017 research review, the increase in clumps of hair in the shower is often due to telogen effluvium.

This condition occurs when more hair is in the telogen phase and, thus, it is easier to fall out. The same research review above suggests that the most common trigger is stress.

Finding ways to relax can help fight this stress. Examples could include getting enough sleep, exercising, meditating, and trying to take at least 10 to 15 minutes for yourself (me time) every day.

See what causes your stress. Maybe you take on too many projects outside of work, or you have friends or family members who ask you too much.

If possible, reducing or eliminating sources of stress can help treat hair loss and make you feel better overall.

2. Change your diet

Your body needs a number of vitamins and minerals to grow hair. These include vitamin A, vitamin D, iron, selenium, zinc. Even though these vitamins are readily available, often the best way to combine them is to add more nutritious foods to your diet.

Colored fruits and vegetables are excellent sources of nutrition. This will improve the health of your hair.

3. Treat your hair gently

Heat styling, rough combing, or using strong chemicals on your hair can increase the rate of hair loss due to breakage.

Taking steps such as switching to a gentle shampoo, letting your hair dry on its own after a shower, or not wearing very tight hairstyles can help reduce the amount of hair that falls out after a shower.
