There’s no way to stop the clock on aging. As much as we long for time to stand still what it comes to our looks, the inevitable always happens. As we get older, fine lines and wrinkles appear on our face, it can be harder to keep weight off and sometimes we just feel generally…icky. Luckily, there are a few ways that we can trick father time into slowing down that clock on aging and keep ourselves looking and feeling attractive.
1- Skincare
The best way to keep fine lines, wrinkles and even acne off your face is to develop a really great skincare routine. When you pay attention to what your face wants and needs, you’ll feel more connected to yourself and want to take care of your skin the right way. Turn the thought of removing your daily makeup from a nightly chore to a luxurious experience that you deserve.
- Wash off your makeup with a cleansing balm and use your fingers or a soft washcloth. Try to stay away from makeup wipes with too many chemicals
- Use a deep cleanser that has natural ingredients – maybe some delicious essential oils? Again, stay away from harsh chemical ingredients
- Moisturize your skin to keep it hydrated and plump. You’ll be glowing and dewy for years to come
2- Exercise
Maya Allen, the digital editor over at Marie Claire swears by a 45-minute daily cycling session. Taking that time to dedicate to yourself and your health can do wonders not only for your physical health but for your mental health, too! A daily rush of adrenaline gets your blood pumping all over your body, increasing circulation and releasing endorphins. Another benefit is daily exercise is getting your daily frustrations out and leaving them at the gym (or wherever you exercise). Stress can really take a toll on your physical appearance!
3- Spend Time In Nature
Many women say that spending time in nature is an excellent stress-reliever. As we just said, stress can really show on your face and be a huge detriment to your body in the long run. Spending time in nature at least once a week is a great habit for staying attractive. Whether you’re just taking a walk, getting a killer hike out of it or meditating in peace, nature is like a natural Xanax for some women.
4- Get your hair done regularly
Many women attest to the fact that getting their hair done at the salon instantly makes them feel more attractive. Your hairstylist will keep up on the latest trends and make sure you leave the chair looking your absolute best every time. Not only that but the boost of confidence that women feel when they leave the hair salon is priceless.
5- Go To a Dermatologist
An often-overlooked way to stay attractive is to make an appointment with a dermatologist. If you don’t know where to start in your daily skin routine, it’s not a bad idea to get a professional’s help. One visit can help you get to know your skin inside and out so you know how to really take care of it.
6- Have a Sense of Humor
Being able to laugh things off and crack jokes is a great way to not only stay attractive, but healthier, too! A good sense of humor will make you less stressed out and help you to stay calm when things go wrong. It also makes you more attractive to potential partners! People love other people who they can make laugh and they can make them laugh. Many people say a sense of humor is the sexiest quality you can have.
7- Eat Clean
One of the most important but overlooked aspects of staying attractive is your diet. You really need to take care of the inside of your body if you want it to show on the outside! Consuming too much alcohol, sugar, and caffeine can wreak havoc on your skin and overall health.
8- Wear SPF! (SUNSCREEN)
Wearing SPF can really take years off your face. Protect your precious skin from damaging sun rays every time you go outside. Better yet, get a moisturizer with SPF in it! This way, every time you put on your makeup, you’ll know your skin is protected from the damaging rays of the sun. Protecting your skin with an SPF moisturizer is just as important in the winter as it is in the summer! Winter sun rays can still leave you with a sunburn. No matter who you ask, keeping up with ways to stay attractive isn’t easy. But it’s more than likely that everyone you ask will tell you that it’s worth it.
