We

Lie
down in the bed and breathe through the nose for 4 seconds. Hold your
breath for 7 seconds and slowly exhale for the next 8 seconds.
Repeat
the methods over and over until you fall asleep. Breathing this way
relaxes the body and relieves stress. Dictating slow breathing slows
down the beating of the heart as well.
This is a very old Indian method for meditation, which experts say it’s helpful even if you wake up during the night.
